Using TMPGenc - but no sound in MPG file at the end

Hi All, This is the first time I am posting a message in this forum so if there is anything wrong here then I apologize. I went thru all possible forum topics looking for a similar problem with someone else but could not find one.

To create VCDs from DVD, I am using SmartRipper 2.41 + DVD2AVI 1.77.3 (With all default values) + TMPGenc 2.510.49.157 to encode my DVD2AVI Project. Everything seems to be fine except the MPG File that gets generated at the end does not have a sound. The WAV File which is created by DVD2AVI has sound but not in MPG. Any possible places where I can look for issues.

I have been using the same procedure for all DVDs but this one seems to be giving me a hard time. Can I do anything to rectify this. Any help would be appreciated.

PS: The file that gets generated by DVD2AVI has this name - "HAHK AC3 T01 3_2ch 224Kbps 48KHz.wav" and the DVD2AVI project file name is - HAHK.d2v. I am not sure if this info would be useful or not but still thought it worth to post it.

Hi gurus, I had posted this question a few days back but got no reply so far. Pls. someone share their thoughts abt it.

I have one more thing to share regarding this problem - after DVD2AVI is completed, the audio file (WAV file) that I get, when I use that file in TMPGenc (as audio source) and go to screen (when I can select source range) then I don't see the Audio wave form (even if the DISPLAY AUDIO is CHECKED).

BUT if I split the whole big WAV file into a smaller chunk (using wavesplitter) and use that smaller file as AUDIO Source then it shows the WAVE FORM of the chunk. This has confused me a lot.

Let me know what do you think is the problem or what should I do to correct this ?

Okay, I thing we have the problem :

"HAHK AC3 T01 3_2ch 224Kbps 48KHz.wav"

At first it is AC3 and it has 48KHz , VCDs/Players don't like 48KHz audio and if it isn't correctly encoded (AC3) it is possible that it won't work.

So u have the MPG file, but without audio, right?

But the singel WAV file is playing well? Take this WAV and encode it with lameenc or an other encoder. After that you have your MPG file and the NEW mp3 audio - multiplex it and it should work.
