Hi All,

I've got a problem where all of the subtitle BMP files (apart from the english ones) created by VobSub have had the colour and altered the colour and transperancey settings. As there are several thousand of these BMP files, does anyone know how to change all of them at once?

You can change the color palette in Scenarist. I guess it is in Track editor -> settings -> color palette.

I thought that was just to set what colours can be used in the subtitles? I could be wrong as I am a Scenarist nOOb. My problem is that the subtitle colours for 9 out of 11 subtitle streams are set incorrectly. I would'nt mind so much if it was still readable, it's just that these altered subtitles only show the black outline which makes them impossible to read (ignoring the fact I can only read english :rolleyes: ).

I'm sure there is a way to alter all subtitle colour settings at once through the track or scenario editor, but just can't seem to remember or see it infront of me. I'm not to keen on manually altering subtitle colours on about 12,000 individual BMP files :scared:

So itīs probably another story :(.

Iīm not subtitle expert but I guess there is possibility to change subtitle color in Ifoedit in your compilation. Iīm not sure if it possible to pick colors you want but you can do copy/paste color from original ifos.

And if it is your own original compilation you can always change only "right" streams to "wrong" settings and edit them trought the color palette :rolleyes:.

And just one idea. Do you have some subtitle scripts for your subtitles? There has to be color definition in these scripts, so you can try to change definition here.

A work around so obvious it was practically slapping me in the face :o . I had a look through the sst files DoItFast4U created with VobSub, and these are the differences I noticed.

Working English sst;

Color (10 3 8 3)
Contrast (13 15 0 15)

Incorrect Nederlands sst;

Color (3 3 8 10)
Contrast (15 15 0 13)

I've manually cut and pasted the color and contrast settings from a working subtitle streams sst file to all the incorrect sst files. It's weird as all the forced sst files were fine, as were all the sst files apart from the non english ones for PGC 1 only (out of a 2 PGC rip :confused: ). It's also a bit weird that the incorrect sst files have the right colour and contrast values, just the first and last numbers have been swapped around :confused: .

Maybe some kind of black magic maybe some VobSub or DoItFast4U bug :confused: .
You can post it to proper forumīs section or to Eyes`Only.

Are your subtitles alright now??

Arrrg, not happy :angry: , the IBM Deathstar Harddrive I was using for this project did what they do best overnight and died! I had a feeling it was on the way out, now I have to start again from scratch. Thanks for the help anyway, I'll post in the DoItFast4U forum.
