Could you try this with DivX 5.02 or 5.03? There's a guy in another thread who also seems to have gotten a very high b/pf and he also used 5.05.

what should my max keyframe interval in divx settings be? it defaults at 1, but when i changed it to 10, i get 0.38 b/pf. what is benifit of pre proccessing source? that helps evn more. gives me 0.33b/pf.

i did my research. keyframes can be up to every 10 secs. now i get .369 b/pf. thanx 2 divx.com faq. better let everyone know. file size went from 3.4g at 60% to 1.7 at 80%.

Yes, maximum key frame intervall should not be set at 1, that will destroy the whole encoding. I usually leave mine at 125, but most seem to leave it at 250-300.

did you author gknot? if so you may want 2 put this info in the guides so us no0bs to encoding properties know they have to correct keyframes in divx 5.0.5. i did 40+ movies w gknot .27 and 5.0.2 w/o problems just following the guides, but i still feel like a no0b w encodingg properties. but so far, i find 5.0.5 far superior in blind taste test. thanx for great software.

by the way, my keyframes are at 240 w scene change tolerance at 50$ w very good quality at 70-80%.

:D :D

This actually the first time I hear about your problem. Default in DivX has always been 250 (or 300, can't remember right now), so it's usually not a problem.

I don't know why it was set so low for you.
