I'm running a Radeon 9500 128MB with the official ATI Catalysst 3.2 drivers, on Windows XP+SP1 Integrated.
My problem is that when I play a mpeg1/2 file, I get black pixels randomly on my screen. I've tried WMP, BSPlayer, Media Player Classic, Core Media Player, and now Zoom Player, but no luck getting rid of them.
The best I can do is get them down to almost nothing when i use WinDVD normally, or in BSPlayer when i set it to no overlay and force RGB. However for playing AVIS's it performs better when set to overlay1, rgb32, and flip video. Having to change these settings every time is damn irritating.
Anyone care to offer as to whats going on here?
I'm gonna try and attach a screengrab to show whats going on....
I also have a problem with playing SVCDs without using a DVD player, but that's another story.
Someone suggested turning all hardware acceleration off, and then bit by bit go back up to see where the problem lies. .. and it's kinda worked. when i'm at "disable all directdraw and direct3d acceleration" everythings ok (well as ok as can be),
once i go up a notch to "disable cursor and all advanced drawing accelerations" the pixel problem surfaces.
any ideas what i can do to get back to full speed?
