i tried so many ways and nothing was really decent.
i don't like those tools ala dvd2one or pinnacle instant copy :D
is there a easy way to reauthor the dvd with the orginal menu?
on the dvdr there should be the mainmovie(with two audiotracks), main menu and the subtitles.

and i don't know how i should point the movie to the smaller vobs. the cells aren't the same after the reencoding i guess ;)
anyone here who could help me a bit? :)

cheers

Hello Blackster,

what u r asking for is a simpler form of the dvd9 to 5 guide.

As u probably know this guide is backing up a two layer dvd (dvd9) to a dvd-r (dvd5) and includes all the extras and original menu along with the main movie ofcourse.

Build yourself a 720x576 (Pal) or 720x480 (NTSC) bmp stating that 'This feature is removed from this dvd' (idea came from trilight and his excellent guide). U will use it in place for missing extras.

Now all u have to do is follow the guide to the letter as far as the main movie is concerned. When u come across the extras just reproduce the correct structure of the relevant ifos using the bmp I told you about.

Build and use ifoupdate for rearranging the cells' pointers. Get VTS Sectors and burn.

I don't actually know your level of expertize. The instructions above should put you in the right track. At least now u know what to look for.

Pls report back if in trouble.
