What to do when no "regular" IVTC works

I recently had a problem with an NTSC source that produced a choppy output with any "usual" AviSynth IVTC plugin (IVTC, decomb, even IT lol), nothing really worked

a friend of mine then told me to use AviUtl and its built-in automatic IVTC method

I was amazed to realise it solved the problem perfectly !

This was the first part of my thread : a piece of advice : when nothing works fine with your IVTC, give AviUtl a try ! :)

The next part : is there any AviSynth filter that implements AviUtl's IVTC method ? I would definitely love this ^^

ahh. I ahve used aviutl's IVTC before (although it was some months ago)... not too good, worse than vdub's ivtc :rolleyes:

I am using DVD2SVCD to try to encode the Asian region 3 dvd of Spirted Away. The IVTC.dll using the telecide decimate command failed and IT.dll also failed.
The thing is they both failed at almost the exact same part of the movie they failed only about 2 seconds off from each other.
I have tried to encode 4 times now 2 with each IVTC mode.
If anyone has seen the movie its the scene were the big headed lady graps the boy then has smoke coming out of her head then sits on a bunch of pillows.
