DVD2AVI Project file problem with avisynth 2.51 and vdubmod

I have a strange problem with D2V files.
I generate a D2V file with DVD2AVI, a small part of a VOB file, about 5 seconds of video. (I tried different DVD2AVI versions).
Then i load it into vdubmod using even a single line avisynth script (2.51 latest CVS).

The file opens, but it always starts from the beginning of the real VOB file, never from the point selected in DVD2AVI. The length is correct, the running time is OK. If i try to seek the file, the clip jumps to the relative position of the real VOB and plays for the remaining time.

It looks like it gets only partial info from the D2V file. I searched for an answer all over FAQs and the forum, swithched several DVD2AVI versions, but no way.

I hope i'm not doing some stupid mistake, i am quite new to encoding with avisynth.

If i use the whole VOB the full length D2V works for a full encode.

BTW, where can I get some explanation of the D2V file format possibly without touching the DVD2AVI source?

Thats very peculiar, your d2v file looks correct (4A2DB * 2048 is the position of the file mpeg2dec should jump to to begin with)

(for the spec of the d2v format search this forum and the development forum. its all been posted before...looking for posts by myself and neuron2 (neuron2's will be in the avisynth forums)).

Have you tried different versions of avisynth and mpeg2dec ? What happens if you load the script into windowsmedia player/normal vdub?
(This will help us track down the problem :) )

I assume your using mpeg2dec3. My MPEGDecoder.dll doesn't read d2v files like that (only uses them for the length of the file)

That was the problem, i was using your mpegdecoder.dll. I didn't know that limitation. I read a lot of FAQs and Forum posts but the truth is that you never read enough i guess... well, at least i borrowed only a little time from you and learned something :) thanks.
