View Full Version : SubtitleDS crash on WinXP

I use WMP9 and WinXP, and if I load an OGM with subtitles, Media Player crashes. It happens in other players too. It's exactly the same issue as was previously discussed re win98.

If I manually draw a filter graph in graphedit, the crash occurs the instant I connect the subtitles to the Subtitle In pin of Subtitle Mixer, even if the input comes from an .srt file and not from an ogg stream. The files all work on mplayer and windows 2000.

Any suggestions? Is this just my setup, or does SubDS not work on XP?

I don't have DVobSub or anything installed, there shouldn't be any conflicts.

I've had the same problem. I think is just the SubDS for OGM that don't work fine, at least for me. But anyway, just install dvobsub and unistall SubDS, because dvobsub can read subtitles from OGM files. You also can try Bsplayer or Media player classic (based on MPC 6.4 with more options) as players for OGM, even the new DivX player from DivX.com in the 5.0.5 version of the codec can play them, but don't now if it support dvbobsub.

That's crappy. Major and minor release are the same to DXN.

Well, 5.0.5 looks cooler than 5.0.4. It looks kinda like S.O.S.... wait a minute...

DVobSub works nicely; it's much better than SubtitleDS anyway it seems =) I didn't realise it could read from Ogg streams, I was assuming I would have to use seperate sub files which I don't like.
