probably yes - try and report back...
EDIT: just read that 5.05 is already included in the codec pack, so obviously it should work.

it definitely does. I'm currently encoding using divx5.05
In fact, the architecture is flexible and should support any upcoming divx5 and xvid codec. As an example, I got a custom xvid build which is quite different from the included one, and gknot didn't complain.

the method is flexible and reliable because the whole registry key is saved so it don't matter if the codec versions have different settings, only a few keys like the bitrate and the pass must stay the same because this are the only keys the program changes, for instance there were many changes from DivX 5.0.2 to DivX 5.0.3. The only limitation of this method is some codecs don't save all settings in the registry like XviD don't save the cpu settings or the Microsoft codec don't save at all. I made a few bug reports and feature request because of this but so far not very successful...

You using pro or standard? If pro, did you have it cracked to remove the adware?

I'm using the Pro edition, we don't talk about cracks here, and I got a key for the commercial version from divxnetworks. But I doubt anything would stop your software firewall from denying gator to access the web.

Just finished my first encode with the new GKnot 0.28 and DivX 5.05 and it works like a charm. Also, the robot4rip works brilliant. It saves a bloody amount of clicking around before you can set GKnot to work. Really great :-)
