Hi, I have 2 new hard drives on order. They are the Maxtor Serial ATA 160GB disks. I will use the RAID controller for them on my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe board. I want to format them using FAT32, because I've noticed FAT32 performs significantly better than NTFS for some reason. Here is the dilemna:
I use Scenarist to author. I want to take advantage of the disk and FAT32 speed, but I've noticed that, depending on the circumstances, Scenarist will create an initial .VOB file in excess of 4GB when it is multiplexing. I assume this happens when you are authoring with one Title/1 PGC maybe. Many times I will just strip out the main movie and the main sountrack, subs, and that's it. I know you might think I butcher, but that's what I do. Perhaps there is a way I can continue to do that (butcher), but lay out my title set/PGC in such a way that scenarist doesn't create that initial 4GB .VOB file??
When I had FAT32, Scenarist would bomb. Changed to NTFS and that fixed it obviously. Is there anyway around this? Does anyone have any suggestions? Pe
