Anyway to get DivX pro 5.0.4 decoding only?

Maybe by replacing C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\divxdec.ax with the appropriate one for 5.0.4??

I'd like to keep 5.0.2 encoding for the moment but also be able to view any 5.0.4 encodes that pass my way.

Maybe you can try installing ffdshow? The only drawback IMHO is that its post prcessing doesn't look as good.

I already had ffdshow installed and it did work previously with at least one 5.0.3 sample. With a more recent 5.0.3 sample, it worked though with some "hesitation".

Not sure if ffdshow works with 5.0.4, will have to get a sample and try. I'm interested in reencoding some 5.0.4 content so even if ffdshow is useful for viewing, it wouldn't help there.

If anyone's interested:
Doing the above enables 5.0.3 content to be viewed so it probably works for 5.0.4 also

Doesn't enable one to open 5.0.3 content in VDub 1.4.13 tho.
