It means exactly what it means...they don't match. Look in your IFOupdate log window. You'll see how many cells your original IFO has and how many your new IFO has. If your original IFO had mulitple PGCs then you should be in Adjusted Cell Mode. If it didn't have any, only one PGC, then use Cell Mode only.

Edit: If you are still having problems, post how you got your new IFO.

Help! in the log, the original IFO, i have 4 PGC's. the new authored IFO has 1 PGC's. and i already am in Adjusted Cell Mode, and i still get that message.

this is the way i get it. first i run DVD2ONE on the VOB's. then i run IfoUpdate, and usually there is no problem, but occasionally, i will get this error message that i do not know how to fix.

Dealing with multiPGCs movie is not as simple as dealing with single PGC ones, I know 'because I was in your exact same situation few months ago. But once you learn how to deal with multiPGCs, it's easy... although there's more manual work to do.
You said you use dvd2one? This is a movie-only tool, isn't it? Then I'm affraid you'll have to reauthor the complete movie using Maestro or something similar. Otherwise why don't you use InstanCopy instead? That one delviers better quality than dvd2one and keeps the complete navigation structure, PGCs, etc of the original.
And if you use dvd2one to do movie only... why are you using ifoupdate after all?

@COOL, mate
did you receive my last PM I sent to you more than one week ago?

is this instantcopy good? it can put a large movie onto a blank 4.7GB? it can compress well? i have been using dvd2one for a while now, with no problems most of the time, but i am interested in finding out more about this instantcopy. how have others fared with burning dvd's? pretty good quality?

Well, I'm not really fond of such one-click solutions 'cause I think CCE has an overall much better quality, but among that kind of transconding programs, people say it is the best. Just check the 'one-click dvd backup solutions' forum at doom9 board... there's *plenty* of discussion about that there.

@2COOL,
such a pitty you didn't receive the pm. It was about the stuff regarding subtitles you asked me about...

@eugchen: What version of DVD2One are you using? As of 1.1, released Mar 20th, DVD2One will do the entire disk or movie only.

i have version 1.0.2 of dvd2one. you said version 1.1 is much better?

At version 1.1 the option to do the entire disk or just the movie was added.

but with this version, if you click on the entire movie, it will compress the movie equally, right? with the older DVD2ONE version, i can selectively compress certain extras while keeping the movie better quality.

If you want to know about DVD2One and the other "one click" programs there is a forum for that.

You asked why you get the error from IfoUpdate, why did a 4 PGC disk become a 1 PGC, and it is because you did a movie only backup.

I'm trying to figure how you could be running DVD2one and getting to this point. If DVD2one makes a single PGC from a multiple PGC original as said, you must be using Movie-Only mode. But if you do that -- you couldn't possibly have the right number of cells for an update. Am I missing something?
