Can someone please help me with my problem? I have been trying to rip a pal 16:9 dvd series onto svcd with dvd2svcd 1.1.3 build 2, but i am having problems with the audio going out of sync. It does not matter whether i just rip one chapter or one episode, the audio is always behind by about a second. I have tried changing the movie offset in bbmpeg which similar posts seem to point to, and that comes close to solving it, but not close enough, i just dont know what to do now! Below is the log files for dvd2svcd and besweet from a 3:30 minute chapter that i have just converted. Thanks in advance.

Hello!

Sometimes, in very rare cases, the audio is out of sync and nobody knows why.
Is the audio delay progressive, or is it just always one second behind? If itīs not progressive, there is a quite simple workaround to fix it yourself. Take a closer look at the besweet - commandline. There is the following parameter:
-ota( -d 400 )
This means that there are 400 ms of silence at the beginning of the encoded audiofile. But if your audio is one second behind you might want the first second to be cut off. So change the parameter to
-ota( -d -600 )
This means to cut off the first 600 ms instead of appending 400 ms of silence, and makes 1 second in sum.
Execute the whole commandline (using in windows: start -> execute) and recover the process from muxing and cutting. Maybe you have to play around with the delay value to get your perfect sync.

Thanks for the quick response and your helpfull information, i don't want to sound stupid but can you walk me through the process of "Execute the whole commandline (using in windows: start -> execute) and recover the process from muxing and cutting." as i dont understand how to do this. Thanks again

Hello!

You have to change the commandline the way i have described above. Now you can execute it by two ways:
1) Open the windows Start - menu, click at 'execute', now copy and paste the commandline and click ok.
2) Create a batch-file (extension *.bat) in an editor with the commandline as only content, save it as *.bat and doubleclik it.

In dvd2svcd you can 'recover' every finished process from any step you want. With executing the commandline you will get your new audio in sync, then you can recover the encode from muxing and cutting by clicking at recover in dvd2svcd (under the misc tab) and choosing the file of your current project. This way you wonīt have to do the whole process again!

Hope this helps, winxi

I had a delay in sound on my .bin files but not on the muxed files. I got rid of the delay by unchecking the following choises in the "CD Image" tab:
"Title picture"
"change cd picture"
"last cd picture"

Right i've tried creating a bat file with the commandline as the only content, but that does not seem to execute. I have also tried opening a dos prompt and pasting my command line of "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe -core( -input C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Extracted_audio_1.ac3 -output C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Encoded_audio_1.mp2 -logfile C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Encoded_audio_1.log ) -azid( -L -3db -c normal -s surround -g max ) -ota( -d -600 ) -shibatch( --rate 44100 ) -2lame( -e -b 192 -m s )" into that, but it says "C:\Program' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file", am i doing something wrong? Thanks

instead of
C:\Program Files
always take
C:\PROGRA~1
and it will execute.
