I just want to ask that what are DivX use for? i know it's for encoding or codec or something like that. if i install what will it improve? will it improve encoding speed (when use dvd2svcd to rip dvd) and quality? thanks.

DivX is an MPEG4 Codec. DivX5.04 is the newest release of the DivX codec.

dvd2svcd is a program that creates MPEG2 streams so that you can view them on your DVD player. DivX has nothing to do with dvd2svcd.
