Well, IMO, that is :) .

Fred has made a great job and is only improving it.

Altough it's hosted by Donald Graft (neuron2) this part of the site is relatively unknown, so I'll try to make it more known.

If you know german and want a different approach (database), try this one:

Of course, we should not forget to mention http://www.doom9.org/links.htm , but that's like mentioning of Michael Jordan when talking about basketball. A bit redudant. :)

Cheers,

Mijo.

Hmmm... Michael "his Airness" Jordan has finished his career lately. So this might be a bad anology :D

Yes, I know. But I can't think of a better analogy. :)

Or do you know a sport where one person is always mentioned even by people who don't know anything about that sport? Same with Doom9... Even people who don't know squat about DVD, video etc. have many times heard of Doom9 and/or his site.

Hey, thanks! Fred will appreciate this thread. I'll ping him about it.

BTW, he is user FredThompson on this board but I haven't seen him here recently.

Very nice list, it's now in my bookmarks. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, I'll be, people DO actually take a look at the list. That's cool.

OOkami, thanks for your kind words, kind of like a celebrity endorsement.

There's also a list of links for DirecTiVo hacking and I'm working on two new additions:

1) A list of "video associated" applications. The Gimp, some auto-loaders, Blender, etc. don't really belong in a video list so they'll get their own section. A lot of this stuff is lumped in the Reference sections and should be removed.

2) There will also be a page devoted just to AviSynth and VirtualDub plug-ins/utils/add-ons. You might have noticed there's a lot of that type of activity here on doom9. This new list will be divided by functional category and include links to homepage/discussion thread/author email but will NOT do comparisons. If you want to find ways to do noise reduction, for example, you'll see listings for various "dust" filters. This one's a little tricky because it needs to be generated from a database.

Donald wants the links to spawn child windows. That's coming in the next update as will a "personal favorites" category.

@FredThompson

Well, you deserve the praise.

BTW, as for the multimedia related programs. I plan to update my Freeware list in the next few weeks and add two more categories (audio and graphic programs)...

The only thing I need is someone who'll make the new web design as my sidebar menu is not sufficient for the whole lot of new categories/sub-categories.

I'll make a begging posting these days, maybe someone will take time to help me.

Ah, the last alpha (veery old) can be found here:

http://ookami.videoxone.de/beta/

And another thing, there is, already, a very similar AS list out there:

http://vdfilters.videoxone.de/

http://www.videoxone.de/vdfilters/cgi-bin/filterlist_e.pl

Cheers,

Mijo.

Thanks.

Yeah, I've seen that page a lot (and your old one.) The layout I'm planning is different. You'll understand when it's done.

Sorry, can't help you with your code. I can do HTML but scripting...uh...not really. I do like your menu, though. Sure solves some of the navigational challenges.

Well, I planned to make something like this, only nicer ;-) , as no had the time to add the subcategory support in the menu:

http://www.inet.hr/~mirebic/backup/

This test page was blatantly stolen from the old VirtualDub website (will be replaced by the real deal these days)...

I plan to make the top navigation with only a few categories like:

Introduction and misc.
Audio freeware
Graphics freeware
Video freeware
External links

The subcategories page opens when you click on the respective link.

But, enough of my stuff, this thread is about your great link list etc. :) .

Don't forget to let us know when you finish some of your new stuff, just post here in GD.

Cheers,

Mijo.
