I have two systems at my home. One with Windows XP that I use all the time to make my jobs, access internet... and another one with a clean Windows XP installation and XviD codec and Divx 5.03 codec. When I use Virtual Dub or Divxrepair to find frame errors on my standard system, he finds a lot of errors in one movie that I have. But if I scan for errors, using the same tool on my clean WinXP, he says that there is no errors. What a hell is that?

what happens when you play the file in a normal movieplayer? does it work there? do you see single corrupted frames? (maybe green or with huge amounts of blocks - making the picture unrecognisable)
if you can playbayk it succesfully witout too many bad frames i would just leave it...

The question is why one system donīt recongnize errors and another recognize. After use Divxrepair and if he founds errors, I watch the movie, but the problem is why on the clean XP install, Divxrepair canīt find errors.

how did you transport the movie file from one computeer to the other?
do you test a burnt cd, or a file you copied over a network (LAN) if so, try burning the movie onto a CD- R(W) (of course the one that doesn't show any errors) and test it this way on the other computer...

My 2 computers are connected on a 100MBPS LAN.
On COMPUTER1 I have used DivXRepair to find frame errors. Okay, DivXRepair find some errors and have created a new AVI without the bad frames.
On COMPUTER2 I copy from COMPUTER1 the original AVI file, not repaired, then have used DivXRepair to check. No errors.
My question is why one computer finds and other canīt find bad frames. Who is wrong?
