hi. i rememeber ages ago i went through a guide for Xvid using gknot and everything worked fine. i tried it today and it semms teh guides have changed and now include robot4rip. well for me it doesn't work. i've checked in the forums and followed the guides but it always crashes on dvd2avi, and i have to do it manually, then when i set up gknot and press add job and encode, nothing happens.

anyway. i was just wondering if there are any other programs able to do this. in other sections of the guides (ie vcd) there are multiple programs you can use, but in xvid and divx5 there is only one (gknot).

Use avisynth 2.5, vdubmod and some avisynth plugins (mentioned in the YV12-FAQ of the avisynth forum) and do a proper rip by hand :) It's much more fun and I think you gain quality.

@rudeboymcc

Did you use the commandline version of DVD2AVI together with robot4rip?
If not, you should download this version from http://www.dvd2svcd.org/
