View Full Version : Can't play DVDit-created disc on standalone player

So I finally got around to playing with Sonic DVDit! (PE 2.5.2) and created my first title.

Its a simple title with one menu which has four buttons (created from images) that each play a separate movie.

The menu was defined as the First Play by DVDit!

Burned the DVD using Nero 5.5.10.20 (which has been burning other DVDs fine) but while it plays fine in my computer, it will not play in my set-top DVD player. It reads the disc, then displays "Invalid Title" or "ERROR: Invalid Menu"

There is only one title and one title set. All files produced by DVDit! were copied to the DVD-R (I also have been trying DVD+RW - which my DVD player can read fine - as I experiment).

Any ideas what could cause this? And more importantly, how I can fix it?

Thanks!

Try doing a quick 'Get VTS Sectors' with IFO edit to make sure DVDit hasn't screwed that up. While you're in IFO edit double click the menu items in VIDEO_TS.IFO and make sure they are actually linked to something.

Have you tried using the DVDROM(UDF) option in Nero rather that DVD Video?

idbirch2,

Thanks. I will check out the Get VTS Sectors issue. If that's it, I will be p*ssed. :)

You'd think Sonic would be able to get that right.

By the way, in regards to Nero, I always burn DVD-Video discs by selecting DVD-ROM (UDF) and create the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders myself instead of selecting DVD-Video from their wizard.

I also tried checking the "Force DVD-Video" option and it didn't affect this either way.

But I'll try the sector thing tonight.

Thanks!
