View Full Version : 5.04 + GKnot = too big files?

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out why recently every DVD I try to make a DivX from is about 50MB too big. I tell GKnot that I want 700mb and it makes a file 750mb!
Its been working great for about a year, with divx 5.03 and the only thing I can think of that might be different suddenly is that I installed 5.04

I love 5.04 for its ability to play all the movies without memory problems, that's a big advantage and I'd hate to go back to 5.03

Is there something I can do to make this work?
Thanks

I had a grossly undersized rip of lotr

cd1 - 700MB
cd2 - 633MB

besides the sync issue

gonna reencode the two discs seperately and see how it turns out :)

Hmm, well K19 just produced a 900MB file when I told it I wanted 700MB

What might be going on? I've been using GKnot for almost a year and I've never had this happen.

Thanks

Make sure you use at least Gordian Knot .028 beta 4 for full DivX 5.0.4 support (including compressibility test)

I just loved that post at forums.divx.com :)
I don't quite understand why they mentioned beta 4 for support of 5.0.4... it was fully supported starting with alpha 1...
