Hi, first I'd like to congratulate all the folks who've created dvd2svcd to make life alot easier. This is my first post here so you can safely assume my problem is really newbie material, although I did read the faqs and some posts. My apologies if I missed something.

I have a dvd which has about 60 minutes of movie and then a couple 5 minute 'featurettes'. I'd like to fit all these in one 700 MB CD regardless of quality. What I did is to specify in the bitrate tab that the movie fit on a (60/70)*700 MB CD and each featurette on a (5/70)*700MB CD. Then I would create a bin file with vcdeasy using the 3 mpgs I would get after these three encodings. Is this the correct procedure or is there an easier way around it?
Thanks for your time.

yup, that's about right. I usually will go through and figure out what the average bitrate should be given the total length of the film+extras. Using this as a rough estimate, i give the extras a slightly lower bitrate, as well as lower quality audio (96 or 80kbps). Then when the extras are finished, I'll go through and recalculate the bitrate for the main film using the space that i have left on the disk.

vcdhelp.com has a nice online bitrate calculator for this: http://www.vcdhelp.com/calc.htm

I thought so. Thanks for replying to my sanity check. ;)
