Hi,

I've used dvdschrink for a movie with a problem. Normally I rip the movie strip it and when it still to big using schrink to get down to the right size.
My question is this. I thought stripping the movie from the extra's I would have a movie that I do not have to compress to much, so the quality would be better. Now I've schrink a hole movie and wonder what the differends is?
Do I get quality loss du to schrinking the movie and is it better for the picture quality to use a lesser compression or am I wrong.
Is there somebody outthere that can explain that??

So the question is if you loose quality compressing a movie which wouldn't ordinarily fit on a DVD-R? And it'll fit by stripping all extra languages, extras, subtitles etc ? But not if you opt to hold on to them?

Why yes, you'll loose quality. But seeing as though it's the extras that's taking you "over the edge" (4.38 GB) it's would surely be by a subtle amount.

Looking at Main movie + language of choise I'd say that a size of 5-6 GB could be compressed (requantified) to fit a DVD-R without a very noticable loss of quality.

Does this answer your question?

cheers
