Help with Fellowship SE encoding

no matter what I do, I cannot get mp3 to sync, I can get ac3 to sync, but I was hoping on a 2cd rip instead of a 3.

Has anyone ripped this 2cd dvd and successfully got the sound to sync?

yes, I did. I had serveral sync-problems, too. but I found a solution:

you have to convert every DVD alone.
or you have to cut the complete VIdeo (3h:xxm) exactly there, where the DVD1 to DVD2 change occurs.

this is because a the end of DVD1 there is about 1 second blackness, but the audiostream has been truncated one second before. this is why you get out of sync at the cutpoint between dvd1 and dvd2.
