I have several XVID and Divx movies that I want to convert to DVD. Is there a way to do it, with out being a rocket scientist? I just started to understand making DVD'S so I would appreciate any and all help I can get. Thanks.

I'd use TMPGEnc for this (www.tmpgenc.com) - You'll need the Pro version in order to convert your movies to Mpeg2. Simply open the .avi file, set the parameters (bitrate settings,...) and encode to .mpg. You can load this in every DVD-authoring software.
Another encoder is CCE which is very expensive (I think ~1000 $), but there is also a lite-version (~50 $) available. Same procedure as TMPGEnc.
CCE is much quicker and there is also the possibility of nth-pass (yes, same as divx 5.03 :p ), but TMPGEnc is easier to understand for n00bs.
