Zoomplayer VML9?

I need a little bit of clarification as to the different display modes for video. Normally xvid/divx/mpg2 etc all use a directshow filter to display video. With zoomplayer you can use the overlay mode which overlays the video and theres also the vmrl 7 & 9 display modes. I assume that these use direct3d functions to display and rescale the video. What I'd like to know is which produces the best result? And how do you tell (in ZP) that you'd like to use vmrl 7 or 9? I don't see the function anywhere but in classic media player you can make a choice.

I have a radeon 9700 pro and from what i can gather the vmrl9 function is the best option to use..

Look at the bottom right, Video renderer settings.

Zoom player has tooooooooooooooooo many options, I can never remember where all the options are located.

I didn't implement support for VMR7 as it's only available in WinXP and has already been replaced on all OSes by VMR9.

VMR9 can give better image quality than Overlay on certain cards and will eventually replace Overlay entirely (if microsoft has any say in the matter).

I have problems with ZoomPlayer 3.00 RC2 and above (RC1 is last good build for me).

ZP writes 'Error in xvid.dll' at opening xvid's AVI and OGM.
I must use 'force overlar mixer' or 'VMR9' for corect playing. But this modes use into-YUY2 conversion(!), istead native direct YV12.

I use Win98SE + DX9.

I dont know, where is bug. In ZP or in XviD?
