Hi,

I need some tips on the following:

I have this dvd that contains (part of) the menu in the main vob set.

The main vobset contains 16 pgcs. PGC 12-16 are menus.

I think I read about this in the forum somewhere but cannot find it anymore.

I'm looking for a good strategy to start. I probably have to do button over video or so, but I'm looking for a good starting point.

So if somebody has any experience with this please let me know.

TIA

There is only one way to do dvds like this. Re-author them.

I am facing the exact same problem with some BBC documentaries. No way to align my commands and button over video with the stored in ifo ones. Need to reauthor every time.

Yes it's really annoying. What makes this one maybe even complicater is the specific lay-out:

VTS 7 is the main movie (actually it's a concert).

VTS 2 contains most of the main menu. Almost everything like language, extras etc is there. But in VTS 7 there's also part of the menu. The scene menu (in which you can select certain tracks from the concert) is located in 8 pgcs.

SO the menu is spread out over 2 vts sets.

Since there are references to the main movie from the chapter menu I would have to recreate the main movie as well I think, otherwise I cannot make references to it in scenarist?.

i think I'll disable the scene selection button in the main menu, because I think it's to much trouble to be worth it.

And after a good night's sleep things are not as difficult as they looked before :sly:

Like I said part of the menu was in the main vts set. This was only the chapter menu. This menu consisted of 6 separate pgcs each having an animated menupart. For the button overlay a forced subpicture was used.

So basically it was not that difficult:

It was just button over video for the buttons of the chapter menu. Because they referenced to chapters and pgcs from the same vts set simple jump commands were enough.
