I made a collection of most AviSynth filters without the need to search for the download sources.
It probably won't always stay up to date but should make it much easier to start with AviSynth or to switch to 2.5.

One thing that would be really helpful for noob's to this stuff (like me) is an extra column on this suggesting the commonly accepted replacement(s) for the deprecated filters - there's a lot of info out there still refering to these old filters and i've got no idea what the modern equivalent is....

I can't answer that. I don't know at what stage that happened. It might be caused by 'offline explorer enterprise' which i used to get all the plugins.

Wilbert, if your get the linked LinkChecker and run it Options/Check Depth = 1 it will give exact location and line numbers

Weird indeed, dont really know what to suggest.
I would try 'ipconfig /flushdns' but for no real particular reason.
Anything of interest in Event Logs, or antivirus/FireWall logs ?
Maybe try alternate browser, I have IE8.0 (never usually used), FireFox v26 and Comodo IceDragon (a more secure FireFox v26).
If possible, try via another OS (I have 3 OS on my No 1 machine, eg a 2nd lightweight XP for disaster recovery).

Shows some errors in DNS configuration for Avisnth.nl name servers

Name server ns1.mysmt.net (82.150.137.100) does not answer queries over TCP.

The name server failed to answer queries sent over TCP. This is probably due to the name server not correctly set up or due to
misconfgured filtering in a firewall. It is a rather common misconception that DNS does not need TCP unless they provide
zone transfers - perhaps the name server administrator is not aware that TCP usually is a requirement.

Perhaps ping and tracert use UDP, and browser TCP (does not though explain why my browser works OK).

(FireFox Add-on 'FlagFox' has lots of DNS, tracert, ping, WhoIs, "Is it down or just me?' type tools, or links to such)

I can access using Google Chrome (most recent version).
And Firefox (most recent version) as well.

Perhaps try resetting the winsock and ip?

netsh int ip reset

reset the winsock:
netsh int winsock reset

then reboot: (note that "-t" time is set for 1 second so be well prepared; note that you can change to however many seconds you want (note more for people lurking and reading and didn't know that))
shutdown -f -r -t 1

If you're on WinXP, maybe try LSPfix (http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm) (Layered Service Provider)
That seemed to work for me in the past with XP.

Of no particular interest, but earlier today google.co.uk had similar (TCP) problem as avisynth.nl,
now prob disappeared but two other problems remain as earlier, [concerning serials, and SOA (Start Of Authority, I think)].
bbc.co.uk, still gets a perfect score as earlier today.

What did I miss? Someone took over avisynth.org hosting? As I recall, the original owner couldn't be found. I made my own copy of the archive at avisynthnew something, which I can't find, ironically because my page at avisynth.org isn't working.
ps the pages about writing a plugin aren't working. Also I made a full backup using the proper mediawiki incantation at some point, which would be out of date since whenever it went down lately. I'd love to see the newer version of mediawiki used because it lets you do code formatting (which my new wiki allowed).

What did I miss? Someone took over avisynth.org hosting? As I recall, the original owner couldn't be found. I made my own copy of the archive at avisynthnew something, which I can't find, ironically because my page at avisynth.org isn't working.
Yes that would be me. We moved to avisynth.nl a while ago (and yes i was able to contact Richard along the way).

Glad there's a new website under active control. Would you install https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi ? Then we can make a language file for avisynth code and have it colour highlighted!

The steps would be, make an avisynth language file (based on an existing file), this requires a php file to be uploaded.
Set avisynth as the default highlight langauge in mediawiki,
then use the <syntaxhighlight> instead of <syntaxhighlight lang="avisynth"> on the wiki.

I'm not sure about the problem of highlighting all code without changing each page, though. There must be some way to override the <code> tag for example.

I see you're using an old http://avisynth.nl/index.php/Special:Version version, I think there were some templating features which are useful if you upgrade.
