Hello there!
I used DVD2AVI to create a .d2v project for Lord Of The Rings 1 Extended Version - the 2nd DVD. I set the movie start and end frame directly from DVD2AVI, so the end was the time when the credits start. The 2nd DVD full movie part was 1:57m, and the 'trimmed' one - 1:31m. So I saved the .d2v file and opened it from GKnot. GKnot reported all just fine - the frames, and time 1:31m.
So I set GKnot 0.28 - Beta 2 to produce 795MB final file, and manually select the mp3 file - it was 75MB mp3. With the overhead about 9mb - the video size in GKnot was 711MB, and in encoder options of XVID 2nd pass (koepi 05/04/2003) was 711.3MB. Till here - everything was OK, but the final VIDEO size was not 711MB, but 621MB!
So my question is what's the difference between the case when I trim the credits right from DVD2AVI, and when trim credits from GKnot Save .avs dialog?
The benefits to trim credits from DVD2AVI is that I doesn't have to encode about 25-30 min AC3 to MP3.
What am I doing wrong in the whole procedure?
Thanks to all in advance...
