On a large series of Anime DVD, there is a few things that we have to encode over and over again to keep the ripping orginal. That is the music at the start of each chapter and the ending music at the end of each chapter.
I am thinking is there a way to do make chaptering like a object?
I.e
The anime will usually play like - Msuic - Chapter Story 1 - End msuic. - Music - Chapter story 2 - End music.... etc...
Although the start music and end music only take up about 3 min in total.
But when you add up 40 chapters in a series of Anime DVDs....
I was thinking if it is possible to make something in RV9 ( RV9 coz i can see it can see there is still loads of improvement to be made, and it has the best quality with 500Kbps :D )or Divx/Xvid ( i.e AVI ) to something like
Start Muisc as a single chapter ( or may be files )
End Music as a single chapter ( or may be files )
Start Music - chapter story 1 - End music - replay start music - chapter story 2 - reply end msuic. etc.....
Possible??

We had actually discussed several times this exact issue, and we believe that it would not be that difficult to implement. It would however need the control track to be developed first.
What we would do is store the episodes in one file. There would be an audio track and a video track for each episode. You might have a subtitle track too or another audio track for different language, but we're keeping this simple. All of the tracks start at the beginning, and you select the episode by selecting the proper Video and audio track. If you wanted to use the same encoded audio (you could do video too) for the beginning and ending of the episodes, you delete the beginning and ending portions of each of the audio tracks except one. You won't loose synch on the audio because you can basicaly have tracks start and stop continously in a Matroska file.
Anyway, you would need to have a control track that says to to play the video track from the second episode and the audio track from the first episode. At a certain timecode, when the intro ends, the control track would tell it to change the audio track to the audio track of the second episode. If done correctly, you shouldn't notice a difference.
It should be stressed that while this should be a relatively simple task, the control track has not been developed yet. There has only been preliminary discussion on it and everyone is focusing on getting the basic features of Matroska working correctly.

Sorry ut you have lost me. :(
Deleting the beginning and the ending portions of audio track track except one.....
Woudln't it be simpler just to use a individual files for the starting potions. And have a list ( i.e the contral track ) that is like a play list?
And by doing so i think not only will save space. In anime world lots of people will skip the starting and ending potions. With this function we could make press next chapter jump stright to the story.
This is so good i can't believe no body is doing it!!!!
( the sad news is that you mention it is possible with matroska files.... i only wish RV9 could be different container format. )
