when the movie is encoding.. how fast is the rate? mine toggles between 500-750KB/s

is that fast? i think it's slow.. that's not even a MB.. how does yours do? i'd like to know how others go..

it usually takes me like 3 freakin hours for ic to finish its thing..

i got amd athlon 1 ghz, 384MB ram.. sole computer just for ic no other progs running on it..

what's your IC rate? how fast do you encode? :(

I usually get around 1.25 on average and to do say a 2 hour movie takes from start to finish about 1hr 20 mins.

the latest version is a bit slower than it was

I was peaking over 2.00 sometimes and averaging 1.3-1.5ish but now it struggles to average over 1 :(

but the sizes are a lot better now and easier to predict so I ain't complaining :D

My IC7 usually encodes at an average of 1.2 or so. 1.5 hour movie in about 60-80, 75 minutes about average.

2.2 AMD Athlon
512 DRAM
2-80 GB Maxtors (dedicated just for video) 7200 rpm.

I have found that if I rip the DVD to my OS HD (60 GB) then write the PDI files to my two 80 GB drives my encode time is less than if I am working both from and to the same drive. My two 80's are in a RAID stripe 0 array.
