I bought the newly released "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I am currently working on the Full Frame version for backup. When I rip it with DVDDecrypter to ISO, I run into a few problems. The menu to pick language setup is all messed up. I didn't notice it until I had run it through InstantCopy. I thought that IC had messed it up but it is a problem in the ISO ripped from the DVD. The problem doesn't happen on the original on my dvd player.

I can't test the original on my computer because it keeps telling me my video out is enabled on my graphics card.

Has anyone run into this problem? I don't want to waste a DVD-R to burn it to test if it is just a problem with PowerDVD and WMP.

I am using 3.1.4.0

I rarely upgrade software unless I have a reason to. Never had a problem with this version.

I will try the file mode later though.

it was just that some have reported troubles with the new version, so that's ok for you then

if you have XP, you could try your settings like this GUIDE (http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/backup/dvdd1.htm) cos I ain't had any troubles at all with 3.1.4.0 using them

I have children, and I take full advantage of the Parental Settings offered by my DVD player (although it angers me to no end that some DVD producers do not properly master Parental settings in their DVDs, and I write a letter to the offending studio whenever I find this problem on a particular title).

By removing all PUOs, the parental lock can be easily bypassed. I know many of you 'young-uns' don't give a hoot about this, but just wait till you have children of your own, and you will understand.

In addition, for kids who like to play some of the kids 'games' on DVD, removing PUOs can screw up the flow of the game, and even cause the DVD to lockup. There are other undesireable side effects that can be caused by removing PUOs.

I also want to clarify a couple misunderstandings:

1) 2.35:1 aspect ratios are ALWAYS anamorphic (as far as DVD encoding is concerned).

1) 1.85:1 aspect ratios can either be anamorphic, or letterbox- depending on what method was used to produce the DVD.

you can have 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 aspect ratios (there are plenty more aspects of course) but in relation to these 2 you can have anamorphic or non anamorphic versions of both, shown here

2.35:1 Letterbox (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/anamorphic/anamorphic235demo.html)

good point about restrictions, cos I probably wudda forgot and left on on my game DVD backups when I eventually get round to them so I'll update guide to say it may upset playback of DVD, same goes for IC guide button stuff :)

(p.s. for those unaware black bar content within the signal cripples IC :()
