What codec, program or metod do i have to use?

you need a dvd program to be install (powerdvd, windvd, etc.) for playback cause svcd are mpeg2 format, same as a dvd, then drag the movie file from you svcd into powerdvd for it to play, since i'm using powerdvd 3, newer versions might have automatic play and other softwares.

or optionally if u cant be bothered with dvd player software try the Elecard MPEG2 decoder. it's directshow, so you should be able to use practically any player you want

In WinDVD you can activate the autoplay for VCD and DVD, but not the SVCD. In PowerDVD 4.0 the DVD (VCD/SVCD not tested jet).

But the best way to ensure the autoplay feature on every windows PC is to put the "vcdplay.exe" from WinOnCD(v5.0/v6.0) in the ISO9660 part of the VCD/SVCD, and a AUTORUN.INF to start it.
