Opening VDR file in CCE

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/avitovcdfoolproofusingcce/ according to this page, when you save a .vdr file in virtual dub, It can be opened with cce. In my case, this is not so. I get this message "...according to the registry, AVIFileopen does not have a handler to process it." Virtual dub's Frameserver IS open at the time of the file opening. I am running this on an XP system, do I need to switch over to 98? Thanks

1. you must save the file with .avi, not vdr.
2. you must use an .avs (Avisynth script file) open the .avi, then in CCE v2.50 open the .avs file.
3. Of cause you must correct install the VDub frame´serving handler.
