I've been trying to encode some dvds but I just can't seem to find something stable that works. I've used autodub 1.7.5 and gk .28 alpha 11 with nics 30/03 xvid build. Neither seem to work, as I get a 200mb oversize in autodub, and gk just flat out crashes when I encode.. Can someone offer some suggestions as to which build and which app to use..

No need for notepad :) As you certainly know, in the newest VDubMod 1.4.13, there is an avs-Editor included (press Ctrl-E). Great thing, VDubMod updates when you change the script and save it with F5.
@Vladdy
The latest XviD codecs all hit a filesize to the spot, so maybe your problem is with autodub or gk.

I need it automated, so notepad is not an option. i put in the .d2v file, and it spits out an .ac3 muxed avi file... older versions of autodub used to be fantastic, worked flawlessly.. I'd go back to that, but don't really wanna use a 7 month old stable codec that lacks heaps of updated features

That's not really a stable build, but more an accident that happened when CVS dev-api-3 was merge into CVS head.

I believe he has fixed that now and that is a stable build, I think it is the 0.9.1 release IIRC. No special goodies like b-frames or GMC just some bugfixes from 0.9 you can read the changelog for more info.
