A gentleman gave me this following idea to put two 352 x 480 dvd's on onw dvd.

"Actually, if you are using DVD2SVCD, you are making a CVD (352x480) instead of a SVCD(480x480). The CVD is considered noncompliant as I have mine at 48mhz audio.

Here is the down and dirty process that I do. I use DVD2SVCD, change all the CD's to 1 and make the size of the "CD" 2200 (I can fit 2 movies on 1 dvd-r) Make sure close all GOP's is selected and use CCE 2.50 for a 2 pass. After I get the finally get the resulting mpeg for the movie, I take it (and another one) and load it into movie factory 2. I dress up the menu a little (have the screen start at the name of the movie) and then just burn both onto dvd-r.

Since the CVD resolution is DVD compliant, all I have to do is drag and drop it into MF2 and I am off an running."

However my question what should I change my Max & Max average bitrates to. If I leave It set at Max 2530 & Max average 2230 then I feel like I am wasting Bits. For example If I have a 95 min. movie my max bitrate is 3730. So should I change the Max according to how long my movie is & If so what would I change my Max average to.
Thanks In Advance, Will Forster

Max = average x 2

Min = average - (Max - Average)

So if you have 3000kbps average, set max on 6000 and min on 0

However, (max bitrate + audio bitrate + sub bitrate) must be lower than 10080.
For example, you have 2 subtitles (roughly 50kbps), and 2x 448kbps surround tracks.
Your max bitrate can't go over 10080 - 50 - 896 = ~9100kbps, even if your average if higher than 4550kbps.
Let's say, you have 9100kbps max, and 7000 average, min should be 4900 then.

Awatef:
So would I take my max bitrate in this case 3730 x 2 to get 7460 for my max bitrate? Then would I change my Max average to 3730 & you say I should also change my Minimum to 0? I hope I have followed this correctly. Thanks, Will

Oops: Forgot to mention I never keep my subs. However the secondary audio commentary I do like to keep sometimes.

Awatef: Thanks for your help. I'll be looking forward to seeing the attatchment. As far as the Max. avg I was just going by what it sais in the lower right hand corner of the screen under the bitrate tab. I have made hundreds of svcd's but I'm new to dvd making. Just picked up the sony dru 500ax about a month ago. And I'd like to utilize dvd2svcd to back up several dvd's on one dvd. I am assuming that going with (352x480) is the best way to go? Have you yourself done this and if so what were your results? If youd like you can email the attatchment to me at waf1919@yahoo.com. Thanks Will
