DVDDecrypter 3.1.5.0 behave strange on my machine

I'm using 3.1.4.0 without any problem at all.

and then I install the new one, 3.1.5.0 and the strange problem come.

It seems that the DVDDecrypter can't find the drives,
looking forever and then my system freeze, I have to push the "reset" button. :(

Athlon +1700, Win2K SP3, SIS735, Elite K7S5A.

I try on other machine P4 1.8 with no problem.

I dont remember doing much that should kill it!

Enable debug mode and then load it up (you can do it via the registry).

Let me know which command it comes up with last in the log.
It will also let you know which drive it got up to before it died.

I just upgraded to 3.1.5.0 and now most of the movies are pulling up the CSS Cracking bar which slows the whole process... This did not occur with same movies, same hardware and version 3.1.4.0. and it does not happen with all movies but most of them...

Is there something in the settings that is causing this...?

I might have made the CSS cracking stuff a little too thorough...

Were before if a call to get the decryption key for a particualar sector failed with a 'key not present' error I would just take it that the file isnt encrypted, the new one checks the next sector, and then the one after that, and the one after that etc until it has searched a predefined number of sectors.

Perhaps I need to tame it down a little :)

You should see a 'DebugMode' option with a value of 0. Change it to 1.

I can't find that option, I just add the DWORD key the with name "DebugMode" and enter the value 1.

So... where can I find the .log ?

Is is actually 'InterfaceDebugMode'.

Im sure you should have been able to work it out though?!

I seem to have a similar problem as "geffroman" but worse the CCS crack shows after an I/O error dozens of times in a rip and will not proceed I have to cancel. Should the reg fix also be attempted for the repair in this case? One more thing this only happens on my older MATSHITA SR 8587 that I like to use due to speed rip. This version works fine on my 2x Pioneer DVR-105 or my 2x HP 200i. I could try a Firmware upgrade on the Matshita but I am running XP Pro and that makes it kind of a pain in the a**. I don’t want to do it unless you think it will help and BTW this drive worked with the previous version fine??

PS: pdi recognition is a great addition keep up the great work and everyone help to the cause, donate what you can, I do!

PPS: Reg change did not fix in my case??

Ok, I've changed the value to 1, and the latest log showing about searching SCSI/ATAPI drive, and it's loop forever while detecting my SAMSUNG CDROM :(

Difference between drives has once again shown its face... I fixed the program to work ok with LiteOn drives and tested it as ok. It also works ok with my Toshiba, sony and Pioneer.
It seems however to have killed something on the panasonic / hitachi drives.
I've fixed the problem now so expect an update within a day or two.

With the newest DVDDecrypter, I had an issue with an R1 disc of Fifth Element (flipper with FS on top, WS on bottom) and CSS. If I had the CSS settings set to I/O Exchange -> BruteForce, it would decrypt all of the files fine, and then when I played back via WinDVD, the files were stuttery and quite messed up. (Something I attributed to the wrong key). So eventually I changed it to BruteForce -> I/O Exchange, and it came out fine, I have no idea what this means, and I'm at work now so I can't test it more extensively.

So that is it?! Thats all you get in the log before the big 'freeze' ?!

I thought you said it was looping? I expected to see a command repeating lots of times.... bummer :(

I've had a look through the code, and if you're saying the old version (3.1.4.0) worked ok, then that would go in line with where the program freezes. The next command the program sends to the drive is a new one - or at least a new variation of one. My guess is that your drive just doesnt like it very much.
I changed it around now to be like existing calls. I'd like you to give it a quick test if possible?

Ok, I can confirm a decryption bug in 3.1.5.0. Tonight it was on Training Day (R1), VTS_02_0.vob, which is a menu. 3.1.5.0 appears to decrypt the file normally and shows the key as 69 88 3B 9E 32, however, viewing the file in DVD2AVI reveals that its been ripped with the wrong key. 3.1.4.0 on the other hand shows the key as DC B1 69 2D 9D, which appears to be correct...

LOL sorry ddnt want to bog you down.
Problem is the Files once ripped can not be used by Shrink DVD. It (Shrink) navigates to the main .IFo fine but then when I go to customise the streams Shrink reports that the File is issing or not present. I never had this problem with 3.14.
Strange 1, I think.

That is very weird.
It might help to know which file it cant find, and also which file you have on your hdd and which 'mode' of DVD Decrypter you used to perform the rip in the first place.

I use DVD Decryptor 3.1.5.0 in File Mode with DVD Shrink on WinXP all the time...

I did the change in the Registry you suggested from "0" to "1"... I still have issues with the CSS Cracking Bar coming up on VIDEO_TS_IFO with an ID of N/A and slowing the process... Not every time, but more often than not this happens since upgrading to 3.1.5.0

I appreciate the fact that it takes far less tme for DVD Decryptor 3.1.5.0 to recognize files on the disc than earlier versions... especially since I run 3 DVD-Roms at once this helps... But the CSS Cracking slows me down enough to take back the time I gained and then some...

Hi

All settings are default. Ripped in file mode, automatic split. When I select next after selecting the main .IFO thats when I get the error. It's not specific and I'm not sure whats missing. I always select ALL files so nothing should be left out of the rip. Also the DVD when ripped will not play using Power DVD from the HD. Regardless of whats ripped it seems not to work. as I say, I've never expeienced any problems before.:confused:

well as much as ive tried dvd decripter wont rip my dvds .
im using xp pent 4 ,evertime i go for a rip the programme just freezes up on my pc and i cant open anything else, have got to force a restart to get back to norm ,have been using smart ripper and it works with no prob but would like to test dvd ripper .
any one got a solution to prob ,ive uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times but it wont work with me .
im using a archos dvd ram and have plenty of giggs memory etc .
have also done a full update from ms ................:D

The cracking is happening on the VOB file actually, but I know that it happens and it shouldnt happen in 3.1.6.0 when I release it later on today.

I have problems with 3.1.50 as well, the DVD gets ripped without any problems(or so it seems) but when i use the files in IC7 or DVDShrink they will report "file not found" as soon as the actually processing starts.
Ripped again with 3.1.40 - works flawlessly in IC7 and dvdshrink.

Great, I'm waiting for this one bad. I just did a clean install of Windows last night and don't have access to an older version of DVDDecrypter. I'm having issues with this latest release. The faster I can get my hand on your new release the better. :)

I finally can test the 3.1.5.2 beta last night, I can say that the problem is gone and all is wokring perfectly on my machine.
