I am getting an error message when attempting to rip dvd's with any version of dvd decryptor on one of my machines. the message says that it failed to patch a file! It always seems to be a bup file too. the reason it gives is invalid ifo/bup file.
Any ideas on why I am getting this?
Also if I continue it seems to rip fine, but I don't know what kind of effect it will have on my final backup copy.
Please advise me as to what to do to fix this annoyance.

That means it probably doesnt start with the correct header.
Read off the ifo file in File mode and then open it in a hex editor. What does it say at the very start?
Get a screenshot or something.

I'm getting the same error on some of my IFO/BUP files. It's the first time out of 20 DVD's or so that I got this. I'm guessing those files aren't needed, since they are small and are numbered 07 and 08, although they are refered to in the VIDEO_TS.IFO...........z
Ok, I looked at them in a Hex Editor (WinHex...kind of expensive at $40, will look for a cheaper/free one...any ideas?), and the IFO/BUP files contain ALL 0's. There IS data in the corresponding .VOB files though.....weird.
SO, I'm assuming I just leave those out, correct???, will let you all know when I do the split/VTS sectors with IfoEdit........z
