New Matrix Reloaded Trailer...

I wouldn't normally post boring news about a trailer, but this looks pretty amazing. Be forewarned, its a 100mb file... but the quality is awesome.

I'm very excited for this movie. Sequels often get a bad rep, because most of them are blatant attempts to cash in on the original's success. I'm think these matrix movies could be among the hand full that meet and often exceed their origins like Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, T2, or Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow.

The trailer's quality is excellent. I'm off to do some freeze framing.

EDIT: Besides needing a fast connection to get this file, you should also have a reasonably fast computer. It's 1000x540 res makes it pretty demanding on play back.

WOW! This is one of the few films I'll see outside of my home theater this year. Definitely. Can't wait to get the DVD too and do some hardcore encoding. It's gonna be a while though :(

BTW, my P3-1.4 laptop stutters like an old lady playing the trailer. No problems with the 640x346 I got from the official website. My home machine has an Athlon XP so no problems there. Awesome trailer -- thanks for the link!

AMD XP 1600 and I get just about 15 fps! :(...but besides it's really a good quality).

wow... the 1000x540 version is really resource heavy then. No surprise this version is not up (yet?) on the official site.

My home machine has an Athlon XP 2600, so it played fine, but my trusty P3 TOSHIBA chokes on it, although i am able to play XviD/DivX on it absolutely fine, even with heavy postprocessing...

It's plays fine on my Athlon XP 2000+. 24 fps no problem. Really good trailer, can't wait for the film to come out!

Is there a divx conversion of these files availible???

just like to see this trailer in resonable quailty about 352x288 with a low file size. And I was never able to download the quicktime software.

I play the .mov fine in Gabest's WM Player Classic (latest version), but I also have Quick Time 6.1 installed. I am not sure if WM Player Classic can render quicktime files by itself, my guess is not, since it doesn't include encoders with it...

Re: DivX trailer, there are a bunch of free sites that offer DivX trailers for D/L. Try google?

I can provide an XviD/Ogg Vorbis transcode of the trailer at 1000x540 at 60 MB (same size as the large 640x346 version). I honestly cannot see any difference in quality between the transcode and original. I just need hosting, that is if it is legal to post it on the web; I don't see why not. >.<

I am on a 56k!!! 60mbs would be ludicris!!! Bucubic resize it down to 352x288 plzz!!!!! I really want to see this trailer.

I can playback the 1000x540 clip on my p4 1.8ghz at the full framerate 24fps or whatever it is. Cpu usage never goes over 50%. Pretty sweet trailer though. :)

I have the HDTV Trailer thats 139mb and its amazing! You need the VLC player or WinDVD to play it. I can not tell a difference in the quality between them either.

Just curious but what mobo/chipset you using and how much memory and what videocard. I would say that 1.4ghz is pleanty and maybe something else is holding you back.

epox 8k5a3+, 1gb DDR133, geforce2 gts. the cpu is holding me back, because it's the old tbird with fsb100.
the athlon xp 2600+ still is ~200,- Euro here. so i will wait another month or two...

the clip almost plays fine, there is no stuttering or anything. but everytime there is one of these white flashes (almost every scenechange in this clip) i can see some kind of banding for a moment. in my dvd version that's not visible any more.

btw: just bought a dvd burner! :D

Pioneer DVR-105 (actually a Teac DV-W50E with Pioneer firmware) - very nice, no coaster so far, and all the discs play well in my dvd player.
