How to identify QPel and other options on already encoded avi files?

Hi,
I am thinking of getting one of those Divx enabled DVD standalones soon and I would need a tool that analyses exisiting avi files and finds out whether they have been encoded with QPEL and other options that those players currently do not read. Could anyone please point me out to such a tool?

AFAIK nothing exists that can tell you if something has been encoded with QPel or GMC, only B-frames are visible to the outside world.

I have installed ffdshow and I have got the OSD to show me information on the clip.
What sort of text string should I exactly keep an eye on? Should it write QPEL and GMC explicitly if one or both have been used? I haven't seen neither on them on the Xvid encoded clip I am analysing right now

It should report frame type:B(for bframes)GMC,P,or Qpel.If it onlys shows P then it hasnt any of them
