Off-topic: DVD drive can't read disk

I'm sorry for stuppid off-topic but it would be good to know why it appears:
DVD plays normally in my standalone player but when I want to rip it my PC's DVD drive refuses to read this (explorer crushes). It appears sometimes but systematically. Most of DVDs reading without any problem.
