View Full Version : Going crazy from a hanging problem

After exporting my final DV cut of a wedding, I cannot get the thing to playback in any way, shape or form. It always hangs about 8 seconds into in every player, and only plays back fine in VDub (playback is buttery smooth within VDub and Premiere). I'm trying to convert it from DV to any other codec (I've tried DivX5, Huffyuv, uncompressed, etc etc etc) so I can deinterlace and put it on a VHS for a friend (it's in anamorphic WS, so I want to rid of the interlace artifacts for resize to playback via my TV-out).

Anyways, I've tried every method I know of to convert it, but the same result every time. Even the source DV file does it, but only when playing it back. I've run it through AviSynth 2.0 and 2.5, directly through VDub, and even the Premiere Frame Server. I've tried different deinterlace methods, as well as no deinterlace (which isn't what I want). I have no clue. I know it's a playback issue, but I don't see a problem as any other video I play is perfect as usual (from DivX to DV to uncompressed AVI to whatever other format you can think of). I've also tried AVI and OGM, both with the same result. It also does this with or without the audio in there as well. Can someone please help me out, I'm seriously going crazy.
