Anyone have it yet? I can't seem to download it from the site. :( EDIT- NEVERMIND... FOUND IT.:D

Here's the changes...
Improved detection of currently inserted media
Improved IFO/BUP file region patching code
Improved RCE Protection detection in IFO mode
Improved support for DVD+R/+RW drives
Improved error reporting
Improved drive region changing interface
Improved I/O Interface 'Debug Mode'
Improved device / disc information given in ISO modes
Improved SPTI drive detection code in NT 4.0
Improved Vob ID file splitting in IFO mode
Improved CSS cracking code
Added the ability to split by Vob ID in File mode
Added the ability to create MDS files for most image types. These can then be loaded into DAEMON Tools
Added the ability write several other types of images
Added the ability to change the volume label of support image files
Added 'Maximum Write Speed' to the information window in ISO modes - For DVD media only
Added the ability to create Information files by right clicking on a PGC in IFO mode
Added the ability to patch the first GOP in an M2V stream so that the time is 00:00:00 instead of 00:59:59 or whatever - this allows chapter files to import directly within DVDMaestro and alike
Added support for 'Success' and 'Error' sounds
Added lots more user configurable options in the settings screen
Added 'Shutdown computer when finished' to the ISO write screen
Added the abilty to parse the ISO filesystem
Added automatic detection of which filesystem to parse (UDF or ISO)

Looks good to me! :D
Is there a mirror somewhere?

TIA,

I hope the author of DVD decrypter reads this forum? You have to register on his forum also if you even want to read it ... sucks
Well, with DVD Decrypter, even the new version, I can burn Ritek G04
only at 2X speed. But with RecordNow MAX I can burn at 4X with the same stack of DVD-R and firmware 2.0E. This is really weird. DVD Decrypter even showed max speed as 4X but doesn't burn at it :(

That is very very strange.

Ive heard of this problem before - perhaps from an earlier posting of yours?

I got some ritek 4x and it burnt them fine at 4x.

If the program says 'Max Write Rate: 4x' then I honestly cant see a reason why it wouldnt burn at 4x. It is after all, the drive that determines the speed at which the discs burn.
I assume you have it set to 'Max' for write speed?

Perhaps something in my code is conflicting with your drivers and it wont allow it to go over 2x. Have you tried all the various I/O Interfaces that you can select in the settings? If not, it might be worth doing so.

@LUK: How do you set write speed? Maybe you should try to set the Exact bit of the performance descriptor of the SET STREAMING command to 1. Unless the drive's firmware is broken, it should reject any invalid speed / any speed it doesn't like then.

Do you verify that the correct write speed has been set? I've wondered why DVD Decryptor always shows that bunch of speeds, instead of only showing the speeds which have been received by a GET PERFORMANCE command and that were accepted by the drive when setting with SET STREAMING...

I dont have the bandwidth to let people come in and look. If they really want to, they'll take the time to register. Its not like you have to do it every time you visit!

The write speed thing is just a cosmetic issue. I cant be bothered to find out what speeds the drive does work at. It just displays them all. No big deal - I dont think?!

Setting it to 'Max' would leave the exact bit redundant. And in any case, that max speed bit is the speed it 'should' be burning at!

It uses the same code for both parts - the bit to get the max speed for the info window and then to set the speed for burning.

What drive is it that you're having problems with Taurec?

Try enabling I/O Debug Mode in the settings and then attempt to burn a dvd with the write speed set to Max.

Use test mode or whatever so that you dont actually waste a dvdr.
When it has finished burning, save the log and email it to the support address given in the 'About' box.

I will then investigate futher.

I am back to Version 3.1.4 to burn an ISO. I used version 3.1.5 to read an iso of Fargo since it was under 4.38 GB. When I went to iso write 3.1.5 came up with Can't read parameter error. I opened 3.1.4 and did write iso and it is burning right now. Very strange?

you mean failed to set write parameter?!

Im guessing you've got a dvdram drive then.
It would appear I killed support for those drives.

Just checked with another image. First I switched from Windows IO to
ASPI. Ok, then loaded and image and tried a test burn, it said 4X.
Now I burn the image for real and .... it's 2X again?!
But the log says:
I 13:02:30 Source File Sectors: 2.261.003 (MODE1/2048)
I 13:02:30 Source File Size: 4.630.534.144 bytes
I 13:02:30 Destination Device: [0:0:0] SONY DVD RW DRU-500A 2.0e (L:)
I 13:02:30 Destination Media Type: DVD-R
I 13:02:30 Write Mode: DVD
I 13:02:30 Write Speed: 4x
I 13:02:30 Test Mode: No
I 13:02:30 BURN-Proof: Enabled
I 13:02:30 Filling Buffer...
I 13:02:30 Writing LeadIn...
I 13:03:44 Writing Image...
I 13:31:48 Synchronising Cache...
I 13:33:03 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:30:33
I 13:33:03 Average Write Rate: 2.685 KB/s (2.0x) - Maximum Write Rate: 3.065 KB/s (2.3x)

Lol, it's almost comical.

Same thing happened to me. :(

Bummer... that was the faster ripper of my 2 DVD drives. LOL
I tried to rip it with the DVD-R drive and it worked fine, just took longer.

ps- LIGHTNING UK! - Not complaining, just commenting... Your program is still my most used and favorite! Thanks for your hard work. :D

Are you saying test mode works at 4x?!

Burn another one with I/O Debug mode enabled.

Then save the log to a text file and email it to the address in the programs 'About' box.

I'll check that its not failing to set the speed.

having said that, the program should now tell you if the drive doesnt think its going to burn at the speed you selected!

So if you choose 4x, my program tells the drive 'Oi, burn at 4x you damn thing' and it reports 'im burning at 2x', the program shoud tell you '4x not supported - burning at 2x instead'.

Weird.... very weird!

Should i have any problems with DVDdycyptor 3.1.4 or 3.15 ripping to a SATA drive. I am running one SATA drive and it seems that I get failures to the drive occasionaly ripping to it. Most recently with Harry Potter 2. Is there a setting I should change?

Is that with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Disk 2? I got it from Amazon (PAL R2) and Disk 2 wouldn't rip with any ripper I tried, got read errors about 78% into VTS_02_1.VOB. The box was sealed and brand new, no visual defects on the DVD. Returned it and got a new disk set and no problems ripping disk 2 anymore.

Looks like 3.1.6 solves my issue - Thanks for the fix.
