Playback Stops when Movie Plays

I am hoping that my problem has been answered in a previous thread, but I have yet to find it.

I am buring DVD-9 to 2 DVD-5 with Nero & when I hit play from the main menu it goes to my Sony screen. Basically it stops spining and acks like I hit stop on the remote. If I hit play again it works fine, but I was wondering if there is a way to remove this annoyance that occurs on 50% of my burns.

This usually occurs when the player is jumping to a new point on the disc and just can't read it properly. This is a sign that eiher your using cheap media or you stand-alone just doesn't like that particular brand - does it occur on other people's players? Have you tried them on a decent player like a Pioneer?

I haven't tried it on a different machine, but I am using it on a Sony stand alone. It was the 2002 top of the line model.

In that case its most likely the media you are using - change it and see if there's an improvement.
