Have you made sure you decrypt the files when you rip? Read this! (http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm)

I had a problem with getting the "encrypted data" error with DVD2ONE for quite awhile. Went through a lot of different procedures to try and work around it.

Turned out I had virus that was causing the problem. Did a clean install of WinXP being sure not to re-install the program that gave me the virus and am having no trouble now with DVD2ONE.

i came across this problem for the 1st time today (i have done about 75 rips using dvd2one - always uded dvd decrypter).

this time it happened because i used the output of dvd shrink (to cut out credits) to feed dvd2one. also i just upgraded to 1.1.2.

i am retrying using dvddecrypter.

Only known solution to this problem is to rip with Smartripper instead of Dvddecrypter. Use file mode, then under settings set Key-check to once. Do not know why it works, but it does. Hopefully the next update to Dvddecrypter will have a similar setting or workaround for this problem.

I also came along with this problem. I use DVD Shrink to squeeze all the extras and just ripping the main movie wiyh 1 soundtrack. Now when i run it through DVD2One it give me the message "Encrypted data detected dvd2one can not decrypt protected data"

The files are decrypted correctly because when i use only DVD2One on the same movie it go's without any problem.

Or is there another way to squeeze the extras before running it through DVD2One

Thanx for the help but i actually want to compress all the extras to a maximum and then run it through a "one click" application so that the extras are compress at almost maximum and the the movie to just so that it fit on a dvd.

@Frikkie

You can use IC7 to compress extras and/or menus (run movie @ 100%). If you need to compress them @30% or less (and want them to be somewhat watchable) use DVD95Copy.

FYI - There is another 'new' version of DVD Decrypter out (3.1.6.0 - 29/05/2003). Hopefully this fixes the problems people were having with 3.1.4.0 and 3.1.5.0

Im getting the same error as Belo with DVD2one. I've done hundreds of movies and this is the first time I've seen it. Im running 3.1.6.0 Decrypter and 1.1.3 dvd2one. Must be something new. Not sure. ANy help?

I think I may have figured out the problem. As I have witnessed in the past, DVD2one does not like being fed any files that are not straight out of Decrypter. If you have run DVDshrink or any other program on your files, DVD2one seems to always choke on it. Not sure why. In this example, I had run DVDShrink on the movie and reduced all the extras and supposedly left the main movie alone. I separated the main movie and created IFO's and tried to run DVD2one on it-it failed. I took the original main movie and separated it in the same way, and DVD2one accepted it. Draw your own conclusions.

@TeFLoN

How did you create IFOs?

I have never had a single problem doing whatever with VOBs as long as IFOEdit is used to create a single PGC and a chapter for each cell before running through DVD2one.

If you want to retain multi PGC/angle features (and if you had them properly retained after processing/trimming/stripping) run resulted & ‘original’ IFOs through IFO Update in adjusted cell mode.

I created IFO's twice...with IFOedit.

Once, on the main movie that was subjected to DVDSHrink. (Though I left it alone within that program and just shrank the extras). Note: I always rip with DVDdecrypter even before using DVDshrink.

Next, on the main movie that was straight from DVDDecrypter.

The second time, DVD2one accepted it. The first instance, and I've seen this before (example: when I've used IC7 and then wanted to use DVD2one, it gave me a different error), DVD2one gave the "encrypted error" after this process: DVDDecrypter (rip), DVDshrink (process extras to minimun size and leave main movie alone), then DVD2one to do main movie. Dvd2one would not accept this.

If you still can't follow me. I'm not sure what else to say. DVD2one has some kind of problem with vobs once they have been processed with another application (with the exception of IFOEDIT). I've seen it dozens of times.
