Since there's some debate as to how long a DVD-R disc can last before it goes bad, I'd like to ask this question. What do most of you think will last longer, a DVD-R or a dual layer DVD 10? I have read alot of threads on other boards that claim early dual layer DVDs developed laser rot, and as a result the 2nd layer is no longer readable. Since DVD-Rs are only 1 layer, in theory, shouldn't a DVD-R outlast a dual layer disc in longevity? I mean a DVD-R isn't glued together, which essentially is what a dual layer disc is. Am I wrong?

1. dual layer discs are DVD-9
2. The bad DVD-9 discs I have are more than DVD-R ones.
But your mileage might vary.
