I have been looking through guides and how-to's and what I can't find is a simple table or paragraph explaining just what is and is not possible in svcd formats. What are the frame sizes, are they the *only* ones allowed, what bitrates audio, etc. I am trying to use vcdcomposer but need to know what the specs allow.

Thanks

You can get a very brief listing here, http://www.dvdrhelp.com/vcd
and there are links at the bottom of the page to more in depth descriptions.

You could also read the documentation that comes with VCDImager, it covers most of what the format allows.

You can also purchase the official IEC specs, I think its something like $50. Sorry I can't recall the url at the moment though.

Ah ok the manual for vcdimager has some buried specs, but they can be picked out after wading into it. PDF is not very convenient for me, i prefer an html table. But thanks, I will use that. And anyone else who wants the specs I think the url above does a pretty good job.
