View Full Version : vcd picture a little jerky while using vcd.ini settings

I just made a VCD for the first time. The image kinda jerks once every 1 or 2 minutes. Don't know exactly how to explain it buts it looks as if you ran it on a computer that was too slow to handle the graphics. Or like playing an online game and a lag spike causes to you stay in the same spot for a split second. This only happens about 1 time every 2 minutes or so, and its very quick to recover so its not too noticible. My only problems with this is that I have a very fast computer and i used the built in VCD file settings for DVD2SVCD with TMPGenc plus. So I'm sure I have no mistakes. Is this normal VCD behaviour?
Oh and also the first CD was aprox 827 Megs and the second CD was 169 Megs. This is becasue of the constant bitrate right? (95 minute movie).
Wondering if anybody else out there has the same problem?

What were your bitrate settings, audio and video?
If you didn't use the exact VCD spec bitrates of 224 audio and 1150 CBR video you can have issues with bbmpeg.

This is becasue of the constant bitrate right?
It is because the bitrate you choose to use forced that size. It has nothing to do with CBR vs. VBR directly as a forced AVG bitrate of a certain size should give you the same video size as a forced CBR bitrate.

My bitrate settings were the same as from the vcd.ini settings. That is max 1150 min 1150 min avg 1150 max avg 1150.
The audio was 224 not downsampled. Only 1 audio and no subtitles.
