View Full Version : Main movie with "virtual PGC"?

I just put together a new project.
I finished everything and tested it but there were problems with the final newly authored DVD. So i did some further analysis and found out that VST15 (main movie) contains like a mirror PGC.
The VST contains now two PGCs, each having 8 chapters (the main movie). The problem is now that only the first PGC gets updated with Ifoedit, the second one stays in the original state which causes some navigation problems with the final DVD.

Is there some way the update the second PGC as well?

Thanks for your help

I included a screenshot of one example
I have now a new dvd with about 30 VSTs
Every VST contains 2 PGCs that are identical.

When using Ifoupdate, i can only update the first one.

Any insight what to do here?

Cheers

I will answer part of my first question myself.

If i use Ifoupdate in 'adjusted cell mode' i can merge the new table to both PGCs.

So with Ifoupdate, i set the following options

- copy color table
- transfer VTS_C_ADT

Is that correct?

Any other options to set?

Cheers

I was about to answer the exact same thing. I am glad that u figured it out yourself.

I am glad too i figured it out.

Just strange after backing up over 20 or so DVDs this case has not occurred before.

I will have to check whether there is a detailed description of what ifoupdate does. Up to now, i used it without really thinking what all the options do. You could say I was working according the guides.

Hopefully, someone else with the same problem will find the anser in this thread now.

I have also come across such a disc. What I did was use Scenarist and import the CCE encoded file I got when demuxing original vobs by vobid and add 2 separate PGCs in two separate titles, but linking them to the same video track.

I then went on and added menu like usual using IFOUpdate and IFOEdit.

Yeah, thought it would work like this as well. But since the last title had over 30 VSTs and all were like this, this was too much of a hassle to just do it in Scenarist.
So i was looking for another method. Ifoedit was the perfect tool, i just did not know till yesterday that by changing the options, you could do it.

Another even more painful method would be to use Ifoedit and edit all the entries manually.

Good to read that this is possible in IFOEdit, too, as it might save me a lot of hassle on other discs :)
