I wanna make a 2CD rip of Mothman Mythologies (with Richard Gere).

I have 448 kbit original English sound (AC3) + 448 kbit Russian version (AC3 too). I repack russian version to 160 kbit CBR-MP3. Can i join DivX 5.0.3 packed video with AC3-sound and CBR-MP3 with VdubMod or Nundub without having problems with playing file on other PC?

I think don't problem, if codec need is installed in the PC Playing. I test whitout any problem playing BSplayer.

I preferred down bitrate the original sound (448->360, or minus) with besweet of the two tracks sound, if the problem is size of AVI. You down slighy quality the sound, but not much. The combined VirtualDub, AviSynth & AviMux_Gui is very useful. I use avimux_gui because size final file is smaller than result the VirtualDubMod.

Thanks a lot!

I mix AVI file with AC3 sound and MP3 sound in AVIMUX_GUI and i have no problems with playing file... AVIMUX_GUI (by default) use interleaving every 250 kbytes! But all the people on this forum think what the best way is to use 160/160 ms in NunDub... What is the true?

@asfiles

I used AviMux_Gui and VirtualDudMod for Mix sound, in both I'm recomended enable "AC3 Frame mode", it won't cut stream in the middle of a frame, searching in option in this pregrams. the frame mode is present in AviMux_gui 1.13 and VDubMod 1.4.13.2.

Definitly best is 160/160ms, AviMux_Gui is default 250kb for WAV file, but not equal for AC3 and MP3.

asfiles change thread a audio/besweet, is more apropiate...

I can`t find "AC3 Frame mode" in AVIMUX_GUI :( ... So i must use 160/160 ms fpr AC3 and about 500/500 ms for CBR-MP3?

P.S. I mix all the stuff with default options in AVIMUX_GUI and got a perfect result! All the sounds streams playing without problems!

AVI-Mux GUI only uses "frame mode". Setting "250 kB interleave" means that it will store several video frames, and then several AC3 frames, so that the size of both together is 250 kB.

250 kb - this is the recommended setting... Does it works in most of the cases? How can i calculate interleave setting to my situation (i know my video bitrate, and bitrate of 2 audio streams)?

I have not yet heard of any problem with the 250 kB setting

Thanks! I`ll try to burn 2CD rip on CD-R and give it to a few friends :) ... This is the simplest way to be sure - RIP is really good :sly: ...

Then let me be the first.

2 CD rip of a movie, 384 5.1 AC3 + VBR MP3 on alt-preset standard, file was split prior to encoding into 2 AVS files, 2 AC3 files (using BeSweet), and 2 MP3 files (using HeadAc3he because BeSweet didn't want to play nice).

As is the ultimate test for interleave problems, I found a pan scene, and it was not smooth like it should have been. I compared it against the unmuxed version to verify it was a problem with the interleave. I also tried using 500 ms/500 kB and it didn't help. Off to try VDubMod now... else maybe I'll revisit Vorbis + OGM.

What do you mean by "pan scene"?

A pan scene is one in which the camera slowly moves its field of vision across a frame of reference, such as sweeping across an open field or showing the top of a tall building then swinging down it to people standing below. Think of standing in a fixed spot and turning or tilting your head.

Does the problem also occur if you mux only mp3 or only ac3?
