Weird PlayBack Problem

I got a Very Weird problem when playing back some old encoded Xvid Avi. When I try to open the avi directly, the player (WMP or Zoomplayer) just hangs there and shows nothing, but the aspect ratio and the length of the video displayed is correct. If I open them with VitualDub or open it in player through Avisynth, everything works fine.

I'm using Nic's 3/30 build, and I've tried Koepi's 4/5 build but nothing works, even if I reinstalled ffdshow, the problem is still there.

P.S. When I'm trying to install the lastest version of ffdshow on sourceforge, it told me there is no msvcr70.dll on my computer. (Don't know this information helps or not, but write it down anyways.)

Well firstly http://nic.dnsalias.com/msvcr70.zip and put that DLL in your windows system(32) directory.

Have you tried uninstalling ffdshow? If it works in VDub it should work using my decoder. If not can you cut a bit of the avi file out using VDub and if its small enough email me or host it on some webspace/ftp?

Thanks Nic, I'll try the file later.

After that, I did some more tests, but nothing works.

1. remove ffdshow
2. install ffdshow december version and check "use xvid"
3. install ffdshow december version and uncheck "use xvid"
4. remove xvid and install xvid december version of nic's build

Finally solved the problem, thanks Nic.

But the way I solved this problem is still very strange. First, I download the dll and put it into both system and system32, nothing works, after that, I remove the ffdshow (december), the screen is still black.
Next, I installed the ffdshow (2003/1). With the dll file(Thx again, Nic), the installation finished just fine but the problem is still there. At last, I removed the ffdshow and the avi just plays very well!!!

P.S. I also tried to use ghost to recover my system back to serveral weeks ago, but this time I can use ffdshow to play these avi correctly(Hope this can give you some information;) )
