problems using dvd decrypter

I am a newbie at this and am using a sony dru500a (no firmware updates) with win xp. To backup a dvd9 to a dvd5 i was recommended to use dvd decryter then instant copyhttp://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php and I have been able to backup several of my dvd's successfully but now i have hit a problem.

I am backing up 24hr party people and everytime i read the dvd with decrypter there is an error. Two small VOB files cannot be read and the error states there are no vulnerable blocks.

I have left these two files out but an error now appears in instant copy.

Is there a solution or just bad luck with this dvd

I have experienced a similar problem with Jackass The Movie.

Just switch to smart ripper for the ripping process, and the problem should be solved.
